Professor Magid Hage was born on 1968, in Bahia Brazil where he lived most of his life. Throughout his life, he participated in the training of many martial arts including Karate and Capoeira. However, he finally felt at home when he discovered Jiu Jitsu in 1995. His first instructor was Professor Daniel Valverde (black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Judo), with whom Professor Magid Hage trained until he acquired the purple belt in 1998. In Brazil, he participated in many local and national tournaments in which he earned many titles including being the first place champion in the Copa Kildere, and the first place champion of the state of Bahia. He moved to San Diego California in December of 1998 where he came to know and learn from the Jiu Jitsu instructor Marcelo Pereira with Gracie Barra.

After much dedication and training, he earned the titles of first place champion in Copa Pacifica and in the California State Championship, and second place in the Pan American Jiu Jitsu Championship. He was awarded the Brown Belt from Professor Marcelo Pereira. Professor Magid Hage was a Jiu Jitsu instructor at the Gracie Barra school, where he acquired much experience. Today, professor Magid Hage represents Gracie Barra Jiu Jitsu in Escondido California, where he has dedicated himself to instruct adults and children in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and self defense. He earned his black belt from legendary Carlos Gracie Jr., who he presently trains with at the Gracie Barra headquarters in Irvine California. Professor Magid Hage is certificated by Gracie Barra and obtains the certificate of Referee in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, awarded by the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Confederation and Black Belt certificated by the international Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation and United States Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation.

Black Belt Judo Instructor/Purple Belt Jiu Jitsu Assistant Instructor

George has trained in the martial arts for over 18 years earning his black belt in Judo and Karate.  He has coached judo for seven years training local, state and regional champions.  He has won state titles in Alaska, Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio and Indiana for Judo competition.  He earned his 1st degree black belt in Judo under Robert Brink, 6th dan, in Anchorage, Alaska.  He has trained in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with Professor Magid Hage at Gracie Barra Jiu Jitsu Escondido since its opening in June 2006 and is currently a purple belt in jiu jitsu.

Blue belt Magid Hage IV started doing Jiu Jitsu when he was 9 years old. His interest in the martial art arose because of his father, who had been training Jiu Jitsu for several years. Magid’s interest in Jiu Jitsu grew with the years, and he became a very skilled practitioner. He is one of the few Jiu Jitsu trainees that has been awarded a green belt from master Carlos Gracie Jr. himself. In the last 7 years, Magid has won several tournaments, including 1st place in the 2009 Gracie Barra Competition Network Tournament, and the 2006 California Pankration Tournament,  as well as 2nd place in the 2008 American National Tournament Gi and No Gi, 3rd place in the 2008 Pan American Tournament, 3rd place in the 2009 Pan American Tournament, First place in the 2010 Pan American Tournament the list goes on. Magid has been assisting his father professor Magid Hage in teaching Kids lessons at Gracie Barra Escondido for the past 3 years. He currently trains at Gracie Barra Jiu Jitsu Escondido, as well as in the Gracie Barra Headquarters in Irvine whenever possible. Magid is also an ambassador for Kekoa BJJ clothing.
