San Shi Judo Novice Tournament

San Shi Judo will be hosting a novice tournament on Saturday, August 28th in Vista, CA. All judo students ages 5-16 who hold the rank of white, yellow or orange belt are invited to attend. This will be an excellent “first tournament” for those who have not competed yet.

USJF Members pay $10 and non-USJF Members pay $60 ($50 for USJF Membership and $10 for the tournament). USJF applications can be picked up in the office at Gracie Barra Escondido. For more information click here.

San Shi Visits GB Escondido

Judoka (people who practice judo) from San Shi in Vista came out and worked out with Escondido Judo Club students on Saturday, July 17th. This time we worked on newaza (ground techniques) covering the pendulum sweep, the hip sweep and the butterfly sweep. Next we will travel out to San Shi and work on nagewaza (throwing techniques).

SOME OF THE MOST PRESTIGIOUS PROF FROM GRACIE BARRA JIU JITSU SCHOOLS ARE LEADING BY EXAMPLE

Hi Team,

We are proud to know that our Professors embrace the continuous improvement and growth concept stated on the #5 of our Instructors Code of Conduct. With the growth of Gracie Barra and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, there is a strong need for revision in the uniformity on our teaching practices at Gracie Barra Schools. To be able to accomplish that, we have the Gracie Barra Instructors Handbook with most of Master Carlos teaching methods and a sounding explanation of his teaching philosophy that will become the main reference to guide the way we run our classes.

We are also are having a Instructors Certification Process to certify instructors and recycle, making sure we are all in line with the principles and guidelines set by Master Carlos Gracie Jr. The certification process will be this Saturday at our HQ in Irvine!

It is nice to know that some of the most prestigious Professors from Gracie Barra are leading by example and meeting “Organized like a Team” for us to continue “… Fighting like a family!” and succeed on the journey to “Keep the GB legacy alive”.
